I’m a photographer and I obviously love taking pictures: the unexpected, chasing the moment, blah blah blah…but let’s share some facts and meet, because I was never really good with this “about me” part.
I left home (Athens, Greece) to live and study abroad because I wanted to confront myself with all the difficulties of living in a different place that doesn’t know me and I don’t know it either! France and Paris would be that place.
I did my masters in Sociology at Nanterre University Paris 10 and then my Bachelor and Masters in Photography at the Saint-Denis University Paris 8.
My Masters in Photography was on the history of Photography Reportage Agencies specialising on Magnum Photos Paris and its photographers. Worked also a couple of years with Magnum and was and still is one of the greatest experiences in my life!
I’m shooting weddings because I always was the reportage kind of photography girl. Living the same event with different people and families, sharpens my photo approach and feeds my sociological interest. I have always been intrigued in documenting the everyday family life, family albums, and how people tend to stage their family photos unconsciously through time, seasons and trends. Which brings us to why one of my favourite photographers is Jacques-Henri Lartigue.
Hope to meet you in person.
Zoi ( means life in Greek:) )
